Colorful prom dresses will fill a basketball gym or a major auditorium this spring. Students will not give it a second thought when choosing a prom dress, how the color of the dress will look on them or more importantly, how it will photograph in a picture. As parents, it is important to think about these things carefully and offer your advice.
Colorful dresses fill the racks of stores which sell the prom dresses and other fashions for the season of proms. The prom dresses which gain the most attention are clearly the dresses which offer the most in fashion but when helping your daughter choose a dress, keep color in mind so that she will truly stand out in a crowd.
Bright red dresses look great on many young women but some hair colors ( red ) and some complexions can’t handle the color. Black is good for almost everyone and during every season but often will wash a pale girl out in prom photographs. The pinks and lime greens can be really pretty colors for the prom too but really take a look at the girl who will be wearing the dress to see if she can wear the dress or not. It is really important to see if her complexion can truly pull off the color.
Colors of the season vary and if your daughter is conscious of what is in and what is out, then she will likely know which colors are supposed to be in for the season and which colors are not. Let her choose her dress based on her favorite color and style but do try to advise her if you notice a dress just isn’t right for her at all. She may listen to you and then again, she may not. Either way, your honest opinion is the only one she has to depend on when shopping for a prom dress.
You want your daughter to look gorgeous for the prom. Take the time to help her choose designs and colors which are truly meant for her and hopefully she will be the queen of the prom and light up the room like she lights up your life.
