The Right Prom Fashion Dress
goingtotheprom.com staff
If you are a girl preparing to go to your prom, you know the dress is one of the most important factors of the evening. Every girl wants to have a fabulous dress that she can look absolutely amazing in. However, choosing the right prom fashion dress is about more than picking what’s in style this season. You need to choose a dress that is flattering to your body shape and style. The “right” dress is one that looks like it was specially designed to go on your body! If you know what to look for and you do your homework, you can find the perfect dress for your style and your body. So where do you begin? Well, first you need to know your body type. There are about five basic body types to consider when you are looking for the right prom fashion. These are: • full-busted figure • full-bottom figure • full-round figure • hour-glass figure • slender curve less figure Choosing the right dress to go with your body style will have you looking fabulous in almost any style or color. It’s not about getting the most popular look, but choosing the one that looks best on you. If you are full busted, take advantage of dressing with sloping or V necklines. High neck tops will also work well on you bustier gals. Try to avoid round and square necklines. You might look best in more subdued shades and you are likely going to need a bra. Built-in dress liners typically don’t work for bigger busted girls. If you have a full-bottom figure (think J-Lo, ladies) than you want to create more of a balance between your shoulders and your hips. A-line dress styles look great on you. You can wear almost any neckline you want just be sure the bottom of your dress doesn’t “cling” to your bottom and make your rump look larger. If you have a full round figure, your goal is to make your waist look smaller and your figure longer. Avoid “cutting” yourself by wearing a different color top and bottom. You can wear pretty much any color as long as the entire gown is solid. For those of you with the hour glass figure, you can wear almost anything and look great in it (consider yourself lucky). Try to go with something that complements your personal style and shows off your curves. If you have a slender, curve-less figure (think supermodels) then you might have a harder time showing off your curves. You should choose scoop and rounded V necklines and you might want to wear a Wonder bra to help enhance your bust line on this special night. Choose the gown that best matches your body style and you can be sure you will look great and have a fantastic time!
